Once you reach these silken verdant hills at Peermeedu in Idukki, you understand why the name was chosen. Tall misty peaks, minuscule rivulets randomly scattered over its surface and endlessly stretching plantations, encompass some of the visuals of this magnificent site.

    Walks here, especially at dawn, are truly mesmerizing due to the sheer volume and freshness of the unadulterated air here. Make your way to the very top and you can take some time off at the pilgrim centre made entirely of granite, the Velankanni Matha Church. There are flower gardens and obscure trails too, always promising a new adventure on every visit.

    Pattumala has moderate and pleasant environment all-round the year but the best time to visit this place is from September to March. During this season, the weather is pleasant and one can enjoy cool breeze with a shiny sun.

    The regions surrounding Pattumala also has a phenomenal beauty and this is a must see town when you are visiting Idukki district of Kerala. It is a picturesque place with an unending expanse of lush green tea plantations.
